Cathy Payne
CEO, Banijay Rights
What is your takeaway from this year's MIPCOM?
“We headed into MIPCOM with a strong slate which we feel is sure to capture the attention of broadcasters and platforms worldwide. These titles are great additions to our rich catalogue, reflecting the evolving market and our commitment to representing the best content out there. Instead of subscriber growth at all costs, now the focus is on production and investment and getting the balance sheet right, as well as fewer, better, and bigger shows.”
Matt Creasey
EVP, Sales, Co-Productions & Acquisitions, Banijay Rights
What content are you seeing increased demand for amongst buyers?
“One area we are enjoying growth is in the documentary space. For instance, The
Other Mrs. Jordan from Circle Circle Films and October Films, The Rise and Fall
of
Boris Johnson from 72 Films, and Picasso from Minnow Films are examples of
third-
party titles that are gaining traction internationally. The sports
documentary sub-
genre is especially vibrant at the moment, with both one-offs and series
in demand.”
