Global Demand Continues for Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home

Banijay Rights, the global distribution arm of content powerhouse Banijay Entertainment, today announcesfurther international sales for documentary Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home.

In deals negotiated across the Banijay Rights global sales team, the 1 x 60’ film has been acquired by ABC in Australia, TV 2 in Denmark, VRT in Belgium, yesTV in Israel and Bell Media for Canada. The new agreements come on the heels of the documentary being licensed by Peacock in the US ahead of MIPCOM 2025.

Cathy Payne, CEO Banijay Rights, said: “Providing a deep insight into the closing act of Ozzy Osbourne’s life, this poignant film has already made a huge impact worldwide. It’s an honour for us at Banijay Rights to share Ozzy, Sharon and the family’s story with even more international broadcasters.”

Produced by Expectation in association with JOKS Productions Limited for BBC One and iPlayer, the documentary was filmed over three years with the couple, their children Kelly and Jack, as well as their close friends, and follows the final chapter of a remarkable relationship, as Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne plan the next stage of their lives together. Now in their seventies, after more than two decades living abroad, they’ve decided the time has come to return home to the English country house in Buckinghamshire where they once brought up their family. But before retiring completely, Ozzy’s also determined to perform one last time for his army of fans.

Ozzy’s death, just two weeks after a final triumphant homecoming gig, was met with shock and grief around the world, nowhere more so than in his hometown of Birmingham. The extraordinary impact of this ‘working class hero’ could not have been more apparent. This film is a candid and moving portrait of one of Birmingham’s favourite sons, and the remarkable relationship with Sharon, to which he attributed his success.

Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home was commissioned by Clare Sillery, BBC Head of Commissioning, Documentaries, while the BBC Commissioning Editor is Carl Callam. Executive Producers for Expectation are Ben Wicks, Colin Barr, Rachael Barnes, and Louisa McKay.
