Screenline Lands Two Scripted Developments for Prime Video

Content powerhouse, Banijay Entertainment, today announces Screenline Productions, part of Banijay France, is developing two major scripted projects for Prime Video; a film Tempête and a television adaptation of Joël Dicker’s bestselling thriller Un Animal Sauvage.

Directed by Edouard Salier (Les Sentinelles) and co-written by Matthieu Rumani and Nicolas Slomka, Tempêteis set during the devastating storm that swept across France in December 1999. The story revolves around Chloé, a blind teenager who rebels against her over-protective mother and runs away to attend a party hosted by high school heartthrob, Erwan (played by Bach Buquen). When the storm hits, the night takes a dramatic turn, leaving the two teens stranded in the dark. Will they make it out and find something more?

Screenline is also developing Joël Dicker’s Un Animal Sauvage, a psychological thriller that begins with a meticulously planned robbery at a jewellery store in Geneva. Two weeks earlier, Sophie Braun is preparing to celebrate her 40th birthday alongside her husband and two children in her idyllic glass villa. However, her neighbour Greg, a respected police officer, harbours a growing obsession with Sophie, one that his wife Karine, remains unaware of. As the lives of these four characters intertwine, they are drawn into a dangerous web of desire, deception, and secrets until the infamous robbery.

Alexia Laroche-Joubert and Frédéric Lussato, Screenline Productions say: “Following the success of Culte, we’re thrilled to reunite with Matthieu and Nicolas and to have Prime Video as a trusted partner for Tempête, a riveting film and a fresh take on young love and resilience. With Joël Dicker’s Un Animal Sauvage, we’re diving into an intricately woven thriller that will keep audiences hooked. Both projects reflect our ambition to deliver bold, high-quality storytelling that resonates with French viewers and beyond.”

Launched in 2022, Screenline Productions is developing an ambitious portfolio of premium scripted shows for the French and international market. Credits include Culte a mini-series for Prime Video, inspired by the real life-events of Loft Story, the French adaptation of Big Brother, and the upcoming development of Gemma Malley’s acclaimed young adult novel, The Declaration.
